Jesus, John The Baptist and Some Perspective
(Mark 6:14-29) As we continue our journey through Mark's Gospel we come to what appears to be a strange tangent... Here we find out about a situation involving John the Baptist and Herod. Why would Mark leave what was happening with Jesus to share this with us? Simon takes the opportunity to remind us of the big picture of God's Kingdom at work in Mark's Gospel, and then reminds us of the key question - Who is Jesus?
