Demographics

We are a church that really does span across age, cultural, and socioeconomic demographics. Our Kids Ministry programs (Creche, Pre-School, KC Primary) cater for around 60 children on Sunday mornings. The largest portion of our adult congregation is in the age group of 20–50 with a small number of long term resident retirees. About 15-20% of our congregation are indigenous, with our church having significant connections to the Warlpiri and Alyawarr people groups.

Attendance and Membership

Alice Springs Baptist Church ministers to a transient congregation of between 220 and 320 people each week. Sunday morning worship services vary between the averages of 180 attendees to 250. Evening services attract another 40 to 70, with the majority not being morning attendees.

In a town with a huge turn over of population the church ministers to a wide compilation of attendees, many of whom do not have a Baptist background. Formal church membership sits at a relatively constant 80 and new memberships roughly equate to the number that leave town each year.
