Message: “Opposition and Distraction” from Gavin Brown

A message from the series "The Gospel of Mark." (Mark 3:20-35) We continue our journey through Mark's Gospel with a challenging passage. Here Jesus is in full swing, preaching to repent, for the Kingdom of God is near. Yet it is into this success that Jesus encounters two parties of resistance. His family, and the Teachers of the Law from Jerusalem. Jesus here needs to consider, what is an opposition to be engaged? And what is a distraction that needs to be dismissed? Join us as Gavin unpacks this message today.

A New Elijah / A New Baptism

(Mark 1:9-13) This week we continue our our series on the Gospel of Mark with the idea that this is a new kingdom and a new king has arrived. There is a new way of doing things, and that requires a proclamation - a way to tell others of the Good News. As Gavin unpacks Jesus' baptism we are challenged that our faith needs to be more than a subtle faith, but instead something that is public.
